Good evening JCSD families. Just a quick reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow , Friday, September 20. Have a great weekend.

Good evening JCSD families,
The Pennsylvania State Police conducted a safety check for registration, seat belts, license, etc, at Juniata Elementary School this morning. There were many cars present with lights on at the entrance to the school. There was no emergency at JES this morning.
You may see emergency vehicles at any of our schools throughout the school year. Sometimes they are just visiting and conducting a walk-through. Other times they are there for an emergency situation. Please know that in the event of an emergency we will provide information to you as soon as we can but there are times that it is not appropriate to send information out to everyone. We will continue to work with our local law enforcement to ensure that our community is as safe as possible.
Sincerely,
Christie Holderman,
Superintendent

This afternoon at dismissal there was an adult experiencing a medical emergency at East Juniata Elementary School that resulted in the delay of dismissing our students on school transportation. We apologize for the delay at dismissal but want to ensure the safety of everyone. Thank you. Christie Holderman, Superintendent

Students in the East Juniata High School and East Juniata Elementary School attendance area may be delayed a few minutes in arriving home this evening.

Juniata County School District is aware of the rumor circulating on social media regarding an anonymous threat at schools. This unsubstantiated school threat is being circulated throughout Pennsylvania as well as other states across the nation. We want to reassure you that we are taking the steps necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. There have been no specific threats made to any schools within the Juniata County School District.

Good evening! We want to remind everyone that there will be no school on Friday, August 30th and Monday, September 2nd, in observance of Labor Day. It's a well-deserved break for all of our hardworking students, teachers, and staff. We will resume our regular school schedule on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Reminder: Schools are closed on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1, 2024.

As you are likely aware, there will be a solar eclipse during the afternoon hours of April 8th. However, its timing coincides with our usual dismissal times, posing a potential safety risk as students may inadvertently view the eclipse without proper precautions while leaving school or riding the bus and Guidance from PDE recommends early dismissal as an option for this event. To ensure the safety of our students, we have decided to initiate an early dismissal and suspend all afterschool activities until 5:30pm. This measure guarantees that all students will be safely home before the eclipse begins. All students will be dismissed at 12:30pm.
For information on safely viewing the eclipse, please visit https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/safety/.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Reminder: Friday, February 16, 2024 is an Act 80 day with no school for students. Schools are closed on Monday, February 19, 2024 for President's Day. Have a great weekend!
